ENEA is a public Italian organisation responsible of supporting government initiatives toward competitiveness and sustainable development in the domains of energy, environment and technology innovation. In the domain of nuclear applications, it has the responsibility of preserving the scientific and technological knowledge, contributing to the development of innovative systems and in the reduction of the risk associated with nuclear wastes. The actual staff is about 3,000 people, with about 40% scientists, distributed among nine ENEA Research Centres and five Research Laboratories – located all over Italy.
ENEA performs CFD and system simulations in order to develop and validate models and tools for passive safety systems.
